Following the success of her palette in collaboration with BH Cosmetics in 2014, Carli Bybel launched a second version of her palette with the cosmetics company early last month. Fans of the social media beauty influencer were treated to a larger palette, which holds 21 pans of product (15 eyeshadows, 6 highlighters). The Deluxe Edition, which is nearly twice as big as the original, features brand new shades, as well as some oldies from the first collection.
Needless to say, beauty lovers were more than thrilled when the palette launched. Keep reading to find out what I thought about it!
First off. . .we just have to talk about the packaging. . ! I LOVE the simplicity of the white quilted print, paired with the rose gold foil lettering on the exterior. The interior features a beautiful marble pattern surrounding the pans. The lid has a mirror that is quite large, which is always a nice touch. The palette comes in a protective sleeve with the same design (pictured above). It’s stunning, and gives a higher-end feel to the palette, which is very sturdy and doesn’t feel flimsy at all – this definitely would be great to travel with. The whole design overall is just extremely pleasing to look at.
Now, let’s look at those gorgeous colors, shall we?
For the most part, Carli’s color selection is on the neutral side. Though there are some fun shimmery hues, this palette is definitely wearable and one can create many looks with these shades. I think Carli did a great job on the color range. . .I feel like a variety of complexions could enjoy this. The shadows are smooth, blend extremely easily, and have a pretty nice color payoff (though I found that some shades have to be built up more than others).
The 6 highlighters in this collection are SO beautiful! They range from a very pale, icy white to deep bronze. They are insanely pigmented, so a little goes a long way. But at the same time, they aren’t glittery; they are shimmery and finely milled. My favorite thing about them is that they can absolutely be used as eyeshadows, which is how I see myself using them the most (the larger peach highlight and the small gold are both so pretty on the lid!!) They also pack a punch on the inner corner and brow bone.
The BH Cosmetics + Carli Bybel Deluxe Edition Palette currently retails for $22.50 (it initially retailed for $19.50 during the first month of its release, then later increased to $22.50). Even with the slight increase, I still think this palette has an unbelievable price point, considering the amount and quality of product you get. It can be purchased from the BH Cosmetics website or through Carli’s site, Pranava Beauty.
Lastly, I do have to mention that I was pleased with the condition of the palette when it arrived. Many had complaints of receiving shadows/highlighters that were damaged en route, however mine (thankfully) was in tact. Shipping did take longer than I expected, due to the high volume of orders, so I was thrilled when I finally received it.
All in all, I’m very pleased with this palette. . .well done Carli and BH Cosmetics! What are your thoughts on this collaboration? Comment below!
Until next time. . .stay glamorous! xo
